Lecture StředověC JinaX: Classical Rhetoric in Barbarian Architecture?

We cordially invite you to the March lecture of the series StředověC JinaX. Zuzana Urbanová will give us an insight into what can influence the dating of architectural monuments.
 
Since the mid-19th century, the dating of the so-called Tempietto Longobardo in Cividale del Friuli has been a hot topic among local and international scholars. A problem on which these experts have not agreed in the slightest. However, among the academic majority there was a clear opinion: the building was given the appellation "Longobardo" by mistake and its architecture, let alone its sophisticated decoration, certainly had nothing to do with this "barbarian ethnic group". Was this really the case?
