Call for Papers: Who Owns Heritage?
(Extended deadline: April 22) Call for Papers: Who Owns Heritage? Local Communities and the Fight for Historical Monuments in the 19th and 20th Centuries. Masaryk University Brno, Czechia, 6 November
Dear colleagues and friends,
On behalf of the Centre for Early Medieval Studies, we cordially invite you to the launch and signing of our new book Smrtí smrt překonat: Relikvie a jejich moc ve středověku.
The book launch will take place on 9 November at 17:30 in the Academia Bookstore café in Brno.
The book deals with death, the cult of dead "celebrities" and people's relationship to them in the Middle Ages and on the threshold of the modern era. It is not, however, an oppressive, gloomy or frightening book. On the contrary, it glows with gold, silver and precious stones in the form of reliquaries that still fascinate with their breathtaking quality.
The lecture will be held in CZECH language.
