Doctoral Student

The PhD students of the Department of Art History are supposed to integrate, during their curriculum, the life of the department while focusing mainly on their dissertation – their main task. During their studies, they are asked to:

  • Integrate the intellectual community of PhD students, participating to the doctoral collegia, methodological seminars, as well as other activities.
  • Experience scholarly life outside of Czech Republic, with at least one month of institutional stay abroad in an international research institute. To this end, several fellowships and internships are provided by the Faculty (Erasmus+, Freemovers, etc.).
  • Help with the supervision of the teaching to first-year Bachelor students within the frame of the course ABC of Art History II.
  • Actively participate in international scholarly conferences and workshops.
  • Publish at least one scholarly article.
  • On a semestrial base, implement milestones of the progress of their dissertation work and redaction in collaboration with the supervisor and the doctoral board.
