Visual Cultures and Art History
The Master's Programme Visual Cultures and Art History is taught entirely in English and consists of courses as follows:
- Images, Media and Migrations: The Visual Cultures of the Medieval Worlds
- Reflections and New Perspectives on Visual Cultures in the Early Modern Period
- Debates and Topics in the Study of Modern and Contemporary Visual Cultures
- Transdisciplinary Approaches to Visual Cultures
- Image, Object, Text: Theories and Methods in Art History and Visual Studies
- Study Trip
- Traineeship in cultural or scholarly institution
- Laboratory Research in the Humanities (there will be a choice of topics each year)
- Master's Thesis
As with the Art History Master's Programme, students will also be required to independently carry out a professional activity outside the classroom. These include:
- publication of a study (of at least 10 pages) or a set of articles (of at least 20 pages) in a journal;
- presentation of a paper at a conference;
- editorial activities (thematic publications or a scientific journal);
- professional internship at a domestic or foreign professional institution (such as, for example, a gallery, a museum, a heritage institution or a scientific research institute or publication)
