The Medievalism (Otherwise) podcast takes a look at a new book by the Centre for Early Medieval Studies, entitled Ženy u oltáře? Matka Boží a gender v raném křesťanství. The author of the book, Ivan Foletti, and archaeologist Jiří Macháček will be the hosts. Their special guest this time will be Catholic theologian, priest and church historian Tomáš Petráček.

We would like to invite you to the international workshop "In and Outside Venice. Circulation of Objects, Texts, Languages, techniques, and Cultures (13th-15th Centuries)", which will take place within the framework of the GACR project of Dr. Ilaria Molteni. The aim of the workshop is to explore how Venetian objects, texts, languages, techniques, and cultures circulated to the major centres of the medieval West and East, and to reflect on the ways in which Venetian commercial intelligence and technical know-how served the purposes of cultural domination and political domination.
