SMART Talks: Post-Communist Art in Post-Communist Europe

We would like to invite you to the international workshop "In and Outside Venice. Circulation of Objects, Texts, Languages, techniques, and Cultures (13th-15th Centuries)", which will take place within the framework of the GACR project of Dr. Ilaria Molteni. The aim of the workshop is to explore how Venetian objects, texts, languages, techniques, and cultures circulated to the major centres of the medieval West and East, and to reflect on the ways in which Venetian commercial intelligence and technical know-how served the purposes of cultural domination and political domination.

Our aim is to reflect on the circumstances that condition the creation of an artwork as a result of broader interactionsand complex relationships, and conversely on the contributions of the artwork to the formation of societies.
